Directions to "das Spiel der Hofnung" (the Game of Hope) included within the 1889 Lenormand Oracle booklet was translated by Matthias Hoschek, aka Duke of Dice of Berlin, Germany .
After doing some research, it appears that I can only find one other documented English translation of the original c.1798 "das Spiel der Hofnung". An original and intact set of "das Spiel der Hofnung" cards and directions written in old German script reside and can be viewed at The British Museum. |
Grimoire Oracle of Shadows™
There are 36 Grimoire Oracle of Shadows cards and they are based on the traditional Lenormand system. Some of the cards have different names or images than the traditional Petit Lenormand cards making this kind of an intermediate set.
If you're already familiar with reading Lenormand cards, you'll most likely catch on right away and not skip a beat. For example, Hemlock is in place of the Clover. It's not meant to mean anything other than clover. This is one of a few subtle alternative cards that make this pack witchy and mysterious even though it's really a sweet little Lenormand. |
Includes; Cards numbered 1-36 and a game sheet to play a modern version of the Game of Hope rewritten to work with the Grimoire Oracle of Shadows pack.

The vivid illustrations are filled with incredible detail but still simple enough to send a clear message to the reader. The ForTheSeekers Lenormand included one alternative card, (0) the Black Sheep. This little guy could be used as a people card substitute during a typical Lenormand reading. |
|
The ForTheSeekers Lenormand evolved into the 1889 Lenormand Oracle over a long period of time. There are 16 cards with new images and new artwork for the packaging.
